Currie returns to action at Cadwell

Tuesday 12th May 2009, 2:57PM BST.

spo00618697_croppedJERSEY motorcycle rider Rob Currie will race in the third round of the British Motorcycle Racing Club’s MRO Morello Powerbikes series this weekend at Cadwell Park, Lincolnshire.

After the first round Currie was fifth placed clubman, but has since dropped to tenth as work commitments meant he had to miss the second round – which also meant two months of not riding.

To address this problem Currie spent two days testing on the Grafters GSX-R at Pau and Nogaro circuits in the south of France recently, although a careless crash, which caused only minor damage to his bike, was not the kind of practice he had in mind.

But problems aside, Currie is still looking forward to the challenge of the Cadwell race. ‘It is my favourite circuit and where I got my first Rookie win in 2007,’ he said. ‘It’s a technical circuit; one you really have to think about. It has a bit of everything; blind crests, off camber corners, fast corners, elevation changes and the famous Mountain where it is almost impossible to keep both wheels on the ground when you reach the top.’

He is supported by Grafters, Top Personnel, Bikers, Condor Ferries, Nigel Biggar and Partners and Richard Henwood Signwriter.
