New dance craze driving women up the pole

A NEW fitness craze involving women and eight-foot poles has swung into action in Jersey.
Once only associated with gentlemen’s clubs and strippers, the first pole dance fitness class has been launched and is proving to be a big hit with the ladies.
Every week, women aged from their early 20s to late 50s can be found gyrating, swinging, spinning and wriggling around poles in a mirrored dance studio at Fort Regent in an effort to keep fit.
Nikki Zachariou, director of UberEdge Dance Company and School, said that the response to the pole dance fitness class had been amazing.
The dance instructor has been inundated with requests from eager women and is fully booked up for the next few months.
