Jersey wins gold at Chelsea

The Jersey team celebrate winning gold
Jersey has won gold at the Chelsea Flower Show with the Island’s display of produce taking one of the supreme awards.
Co-ordinator of the Jersey Farmers Union stand, Graeme Le Marquand said: ‘It’s fantastic – we are all ecstatic. It’s a case of mission accomplished.’
Mr Le Marquand added that it had been a combination of nine months’ hard work and a wonderful team effort involving amateur gardeners, commercial growers, schools, La Moye Prison and other members of the community.
‘We’ve had lots of fantastic comments about our display, especially the way we had decorated the cartwheels with chillis and peppers and the fantastic leeks produced by Transport and Technical Services at Warwick Farm which looked magnificent,’ he said.
