Walker confident before Monaco test
Friday 22nd May 2009, 3:00PM BST.
JERSEY racing driver James Walker is in confident mood ahead of Sunday’s World Series by Renault race in Monaco.
He had the perfect start to the weekend, finishing quickest in collective testing ahead of tomorrow’s qualifying round.
Walker, who drives for P1 Motorsport, clocked a time of 1:28.290, finishing 0.067 seconds ahead of New Zealand’s Brendon Hartley.
‘It was a perfect start. There is a lot of work to do on the car before qualifying, but if we can start the race from the front of the grid then I think we can win,’ he said.
Currently placed third in the drivers’ championship going into the third round of the season, Walker is full of confidence after his recent win in the second race at Spa-Francorchamps.
