Blaze destroys couple’s new home

A COUPLE have been left devastated after their new flat was destroyed by fire yesterday.
The Fire and Rescue Service said that the pair were in the process of moving into the rented property in Le Marais when an electrical fire broke out in the kitchen.
Firefighters were called out at about 1.45 pm after a number of people saw smoke pouring out of the windows.
Two engines were sent to the scene and two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus searched the property to ensure no-one was trapped inside.
