Race winner Andrew Hennessy picks up water at a feed station in last year's event

THE Standard Chartered Marathon management team are looking for companies willing to sponsor the water and energy drinks stations at this year’s event.

The marathon, relay and JEP 3km fun run are on Sunday 27 September and there will be 12 drinks tables around the 26.2-mile course.

In return for £500 sponsoring organisations will be able to display banners and signs around their table and their company logos will be added to the course map. There will also be a prize for the most exciting and imaginative table.

The race orgaisers have already secured the support of Jersey Enterprise Aware winning firm Grafters, who say that they intend to create an ‘extravaganza’ that will win the special prize.
Money raised through the drinks table sponsorship will pay for the water and other hydration and energy products for the runners.

Race director Helen Baker said: ‘Water and other drinks are essential for a safe and healthy race. Drinks are also one of the biggest outlays so we would welcome the help of Island businesses in covering this cost. It’s also a great opportunity to promote a brand.’
