Qualifying carrot for bodybuilders
Thursday 4th June 2009, 2:58PM BST.
BODYBUILDERS from the Channel Islands will this weekend compete for the chance to qualify for the British finals of the UKFBB Body Building Championships.
The Body Building and Toned Figure CI competition will be held at Fort Regent on Saturday, with the winner of each category automatically qualifying for the finals in Nottingham in October.
The local competition was last held in 2007, but after a break and a change of organisers, 17 body builders have so far signed up to take part.
The competition will feature male and female entries in a variety of categories – although the women will only compete in the toned figure competition – not the bodybuilding category. The weigh-in begins at 4 pm, with the main show starting at 6.30 pm.

Win a share of £10,000
2012 is the year of the London Olympics and to celebrate this great event the Jersey Evening Post, in association with sponsors Ogier is giving all sporting clubs a chance to win a share of £10,000.

Would someone please tell me why there was no picture of the winner of this event, Scott Vallance, in Tuesday’s JEP?
I have the pleasure of knowing Scott personally and know how much dedication and hard work he put into competing. So, to win and then have nothing more than, what amounts to, an afterthought mention where he wasn’t even extended the courtesy of having his name spelt correctly, must be very disappointing.
Come on JEP, sort it out!!!!
