MOST people, when they retire, decide to have a few drinks, or maybe a meal with their colleagues.
For Colin Belsey, being a founding member of The Harmony Men, it seemed only natural to choose to sing himself out and he has helped to organise a concert next week to raise money for charity.
Having served in the States of Jersey police force for 27 years, Mr Belsey is leaving Jersey next month to live in North Yorkshire.
During his time in the police force he helped train police custody staff on how to deal with people who have autism. He said that the recent withdrawal of States funding for Autism Jersey made him want to help raise money for that charity.
Over the years, The Harmony Men, who set up in 1992, have sung in hundreds of locations in the Island and abroad, and they have raised thousands of pounds for local charities.
The concert is being staged tomorrow evening, Friday 5 June, at St Mark’s Church, David Place, at 7.30 pm. Tickets are £8 and are available on the door.
