HUSBAND-and-wife John and Denise Woolnough starred in Mourant’s JEP KO Cup 2nd round defeat by Centurion A last night at FB2.
John scored his first ton since moving to the Island while Denise played for the first time because the team was short and she took a catch and scored a run.
Both were not out with John holding the Mourant innings together with an unbeaten 105 off 96 balls. He struck 17 boundaries and two sixes but it was not enough as Mourant were defeated by 37 runs.
Haydn Druce hit 50 runs off 57 balls, including six fours and one six, helping Centurion A to a 15-over total of 186 for four wickets.
John Woolnough (30) said: ‘It was very enjoyable and the highlight was batting with Denise. It’s the first time that’s happened because it was the first she had played and she took a catch and scored a run.’

A ton?, this guy should be on the national team, too bad they didn’t win. As for the lady,a catch is good for a first timer.
