New president for accountants
Saturday 6th June 2009, 3:00PM BST.

James Varrie
THE Channel Islands members’ network of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants has elected James Varrie as president.
Mr Varrie takes over from Guernsey-based Karen Haith, who has held the post for the past three years.
The Channel Islands group is one of 38 around the world and all those who are studying or have qualified in the ACCA professional examinations are entitled to attend membership events.
This includes the forthcoming annual conference, which is being held this year in Jersey on 17, 18 and 19 June at the Hotel de France.
The agenda this year includes Jersey and Guernsey law and tax updates, presentations on client relationships and corporate governance, compliance, and cost and IFRS issues in light of the current economic downturn. The speakers include both local and UK practitioners.
