Pitman in new contract talks with the Cherries
Friday 12th June 2009, 2:59PM BST.
JERSEY’s Brett Pitman is currently re-negotiating a new contract with Bournemouth AFC, and is back in the Island for a week before pre-season training.
The 21-year-old explained that he is looking to a new contract with Bournemouth, but that a move to another club might happen, depending on the merry-go-round of summer signings.
‘But I’m really happy at Bournemouth,’ he said. ‘I’ve been here for almost the last six years and have come to accept Bournemouth as my home. I’m glad to be back in Jersey but, to be honest, I now see myself as a mainlander, mainly because of the football.
‘I am also indebted to the manager, Eddie Howe, who took over on New Year’s Eve and since then has shown real confidence in me.’
