The minnows march on
Friday 12th June 2009, 3:00PM BST.
HAYDN DRUCE was in blistering form last night to help Division III minnows Centurion A through to the semi-finals of the JEP Knockout Trophy.
He took two wickets and top-scored for his side to help them secure an eight wicket victory over Durrell who set a total of 106 with the help of Christian Adams’ 33.
In reply Druce powered his side through to the next round with 49, not out, to reach the required total in the 12th over and setup a match against Division I side Beeches.
Last year’s finalists St Helier RFC were knocked out by Walkovers who, with the help of 36 from Sam Dewhurst and 27 from Nick Richardson, posted 137.
Strong bowling from Walkovers’ Bradley Vautier with two wickets and Dewhurst’s three halted St Helier’s bid to progress as they were all out for 96.
