Island firms sign up for jobs event
Wednesday 17th June 2009, 3:00PM BST.
MORE than 30 Island businesses will be taking part in a free jobs fair next month.
The event is being organised by Careers Jersey, with the support of the Island’s Skills Board, and will give firms the chance to meet with local job-seekers.
Recently, the JEP reported that Careers Jersey were ‘90 per cent certain’ that they would hold an event of this kind and they have now confirmed that the event will definitely take place on 7 July at the Town Hall.
The one-day event is being held in response to the increasing number of Islanders looking for work over recent months, as a result of the economic downturn and related redundancies. There will be no charge for businesses taking part or for Islanders who attend.
The event will run between 12 pm and 2 pm and then again between 5 pm and 7 pm.
