History of secret files is revealed
Thursday 18th June 2009, 3:00PM BST.
REVELATIONS helping to explain why secret police dossiers were kept on States Members have emerged.
They include allegations of racism against a politician, a minister abusing his position and a relationship between a Member and a person with possible criminal connections.
Two incidents are believed to have been the trigger for senior police officers at Rouge Bouillon to secretly set up a file on each of the 53 States Members.
As they compiled their information, it is understood that certain discoveries were made about some politicians and the States police were worried that certain high-profile politicians could potentially be open to blackmail.

It just gets better – you couldnt write this… The Police should stop trying to wriggle out of it and take it on the chin. As for Lenny Harper’s comments.. Laughable!

I am convinced our politicians were investigated to check if it was possible to blackmail them just as the article above sayse.
I am sure all our politicians were investigated to see if any were open to blackmail.
Knowledge is power after all.

It’s strange, very strange, that no commments on this article have been published yet.
Censorship?
The eyes of the mainland are watching Jersey.

The UK has its own problems and wont give a dam about this story. Sounds weird that Harper knew nothing about it though. Now that really is an odd one so who can we believe?

Well “Winton Wreck” your comment has appeared – still believe the censorship conspiracy. Perhaps you should keep a closer watch on your own because from what we are reading this side of the channel you have corrupt politicians, massive crime, terrorism and the highest level of invasive laws in Western Europe.
Of course most of what you read in the press is just gossip so don’t take it to seriously.

Sorry but things don’t add up as far as I am concerned.
I’m going to buy a big bag of salt as I going to need it by the looks of things!

Frank Walker as new Chief Minister became the equivalent of Tony Blair at the time. Is it really that bad that our police force would want to protect our leaders and be prepared with counter intelligence. At the time in world events you had a real terrorist threat so I would have thought all police forces across the globe would have had to assess political leaders against a terrorist backdrop.
I would suspect most countries hold files for politicians own protection. You would need to keep it within a select few, especially on an island like Jersey.
As Jersey has no party politics there is no vetting system by the parties as in the UK therefore we have to trust the individual elected one hopes that they all have integrity.
