Swimmers start gold rush

The Jersey swimming team: Michael Le Couilliard, Ian Black , JJ Gallichan, Ben Le Clercq, Antoine Le Fevre, Tom Gallichan, Grace Le Couillard, Ebony Jacklin, Charlotte Manning, Katie Glendenning, Emma Glendenning, Kerrie Smith, Rebecca Le Maistre, Iona Richardson
Swimmer Ian Black led a charge to the top end of the table tonight, with two golds and a silver in the pool.
Backed up by Katie Speller, who also won gold and a silver, and silvers for JJ Gallichan and the women’s 4 x 50m freestyle relay team.
And the swimming hasn’t finished yet!. Jersey now have four golds, seven silvers and three bronzes and are headed in the table by Faroes, Aland and Gotland – but they are closing fast.
Jersey added two more track and field medals to their total in Mariehamn this evening, with Zane Duquemin getting a bronze in his weaker event, the shot, and Peter Irving taking silver in the 400m hurdles.
