Enterprise masterclass focuses on customer care
Tuesday 30th June 2009, 2:59PM BST.
A JERSEY Enterprise masterclass on customer care is to be held at the Royal Yacht Hotel later this week.
The masterclass, arranged in partnership with the Jersey Hospitality Association, is entitled the Customer is King and is designed to help inform businessmen and women understand how improved customer service can have a major positive impact on all sorts of enterprise.
Economic Development Minister Alan Maclean has made it clear that he believes that customer care – or service, as it used to be described – is a vital part of modern business.
Senator Maclean said: ‘With customer service playing an increasingly important role in securing and retaining business, this masterclass will be invaluable for Island business people.’

Sorry me too, I buy more online than I buy localy, take printer ink two Jersey shops quoted £23 & £29 respectivly, online the two cost £24 this was not an inferior brand but the same as I was quoted for localy!!!
On buying food products localy I brought green peppers localy 3 for £1.79 imported peppers £1.93 for six why when locAL producers do not have shipping costs etc is local produce so much dearer
I but the best value and quillity I can find, my duty is first and foremost to my fammily not to those that over charge

I wonder if a bulk discount would be granted if the Council of Ministers attended this course?

A bit late in the day now the “captive” audience has been liberated by internet shopping I feel.
Why bother when with the click of a mouse you have saved time, money and grief?
No hassle driving to town.
No hassle with parking, or associated costs of parking.
No discurtious shop staff who may not even be able to speak English to you.
No yobbos or obnoxious people to contend with etc.
No going in and being told we don’t have the item you want in stock but we can get it down for sometime next month.
No GST if under £400.
No VAT.
Finally on the internet you even save money and get it sent down often the next day.
Flogging a dead horse comes to mind.

As a customer of the Jersey government I look forward to this.
We are all customers of our elected leaders as well as being the people who appoint them.
I am local produce think twice about me.

A total waste of money – how much is the taxpayer having to fork out for this? Businesses already have internal staff training and if they don’t they should have and ought to be paying for this themselves – not the taxpayer!
