Island Games: Athletics on Day 6

The women’s athletics team have added another gold and silver medal to their haul at the NatWest Island Games in Aland, with success in the relay events.

Gemma Dawkins, Hazel Le Cornu, Katie Silva and Sophie Twinam won gold in the 4×400m relay in 3.54.97, ahead of the Isle of Man and Shetlands.

And Gemma Dawkins, Hazel Le Cornu, Jenna Murphy and Sophie Twinam took silver in the 4×100m event, in 49.54.

It brought the total number of golds won by Jersey to 21, just one behind the Isle of Man and nine behind the Faroe Islands. At that time, Jersey also had 30 silvers and 13 bronze.
