Potty bollards could attract the tourists

HAH! So, the much-loathed Mass-Bollard Man has finally slunk out of his lair!
Congratulations to Anne Pasturel and the WI on their sighting on the Rue de l’Hermite on the north side of the Airport Runway! (JEP, 27 June).
After the bludgeoning he last received following the Approach Road farce, we Bureaucratic Idiocy Spotters really thought he had gone extinct. But no, in a further round of box-ticking indulgence, some CV-watcher has prompted the Brussels-enthralled bureaucrats from the CAA to come up with further hideous nonsenses.
We had managed for some 80 years without that unsightly fence; now these potty bollards can serve only as a tourist attraction – an example of grand silliness to show off to our visiting friends, as we whizz them around the Island.
Very few of us residents can have been aware that this little road even existed; now the site/sight must surely become essential viewing by hosts, by Explorer buses, by Waverley coaches and the rest.
Indeed, building a car park adjacent, and employing an attendant, would vouchsafe a further unmissable, money-wasting opportunity.
