Gold for Chris Cotillard and Kim Ashton
Jersey won gold in the badminton competition on the last day of the NatWest Island Games in Aland.
Kim Ashton and Chris Cotilliard beat Guernsey pair Le Moine and Lloyd 2-1 in the mixed pairs, 21-15, 19-21, 21-16.
Jersey also won two silver medals in the table tennis.
Nicola Duke won her women’s singles semi-final this morning, but was unable to go all the way, being defeated in the final quest for gold. Both matches were against opposition from Gotland.
Craig Gascoyne, meanwhile, reached the final of the men’s singles, but was unable to defeat Aland’s Pettersson in the final, so also took silver.
These medals brought Jersey’s final tally to 24 gold, 37 silver and 19 bronze medals, keeping them in third place, behind the Isle of Man with 29 gold and the Faroe Islands, top with 34 gold. Guernsey were in fourth with 21.

He looks a complete and utter geek in that picture – you are not playing rugby or football mate!
