Beaulieu Convent Prom
Saturday 4th July 2009, 2:54PM BST.
Beaulieu Convent students celebrated the end of their compulsory education with a summer ball at the Grand Hotel.
The evening enjoyed by 117 Year 11 students included a three-course dinner, the presentation of student awards, and a raffle that was raising money for CLIC Sargent.
Assistant head teacher William Whitehead said that the school had held this event for around three years. ‘It is to celebrate the efforts that the girls have put in recently for their exams and to help bond them before they progress into sixth form in September,’ he said. ‘And for those who have chosen to leave the school, it served as a nice farewell do.’
Sophia Morgan, who was one of the student organisers of the event, added: ‘It was designed to be an end of year treat for the girls, to celebrate the culmination of our exams and a reward for all our hard work and effort. It also served a timely opportunity to bid a fond farewell to those students leaving Beaulieu for pastures new.’
