Jersey retain tennis title

JERSEY retained their inter-island tennis title with a 10-6 away victory over Guernsey at Longcamps, yesterday.
The day got off to a great start for Jersey with former British over-35s champion Andrew Evans beating Guernsey’s No 1 McLuskey in straight sets, 6-3 6-1.
ersey won all but one of the men’s singles games and the Jersey women won 5-3. They were euqlly dominant in the doubles to record a 10-6 victory.
‘We did really well,’ said Evans after the match. ‘We did well in every round. We had a young team and I’m really pleased with the kids.’
