THE annual States Business Plan that is to be debated in September is to be the subject of a summer Scrutiny review.

The Corporate Services Scrutiny panel chaired by Senator Sarah Ferguson will be up against the clock as any amendments will have to be tabled for debate before the end of next month.

The Scrutiny review will examine the detail of the plan prepared by Chief Minister Terry Le Sueur and Treasury Minister Philip Ozouf. The annual plan sets out the business proposals of ministers and allows others an insight into the application of the proposals.

The panel will assess the consequences of proposed changes to spending limits to be imposed on States departments.

The review will look at the decision-making process that resulted in the changes and will consider if the process involved was sufficiently robust. It will also examine any other issues that may arise that the panel considers relevant.
