Shelter from a cruel east wind

Saturday 25th July 2009, 2:59PM BST.

From Joy Anthony.
IT is greatly to be hoped that no one will take the action suggested by the letter from your Middlesborough correspondent (JEP, 20 July) ‘Dispose of Grouville Station bus shelter’.

As too many bus users would gladly testify, even in its oft-vandalised state (and heroic efforts are made to keep it clean and replace timetables) it is far, far better than no shelter. The east wind can be cruel at this stop.

May I also mention that this shelter was the generous gift of a Grouville resident many years ago. Mrs Philips, of Grouville Park, raised money by staging entertainments. The gift was much appreciated then and still is now – not least by me.
