Competitors sprint for the water at Green Island.

YESTERDAY’S annual Green Island to Havre des Pas swim, organised by the Jersey Swimming Club, resulted in a new name on the trophy as Steph Proud from Chester-le-Street SC, Co Durham, finished ahead of the field in a time of 30.00 min.

First man home was triathlete Daniel Halksworth in 30.53. In all 40 men and 24 women took part, with swimmers ranging in age between 13 and 73.

Competitors represented a variety of clubs including the JSC, AIB Tigers, the Jersey Long Distance Swimming Club, the Royal Lifesaving Society, the Jersey Waterpolo Association and the Jersey Triathlon Club.
