Grands Vaux youth club

GRANDS Vaux youth club will not be affected by the planned closure of the family centre on the same site.

The Jersey Youth Service is reassuring people that the youth club will remain open despite the proposals to shut down the family centre as part of the Business Plan.

The service has spoken out following the recent concerns from young people, parents and the community of Grands Vaux about the future of the centre.

They have explained that the premises are shared by Education Sport and Culture, which operates the youth club and youth centre, and Health and Social Services, which operates the family centre.

half way there then, good for the youth club.
so social service and health find the cash to keep the family centre and nursery open.
well done education sport and culture.

So all we will be left with is the whiners that complain that families sponge of the States for child care because affordable child care is not available to people.

Why in hell do we have mandatory education from 5 to 16 but no obligation for pre-school childcare. Especially when both parents need to work.

Jersey is as always 20 years behind the times.

Just for once I would like to see something good from Jersey and see it lead the way in childcare and education.

Come on you can do it, just apply yourselves as you keep telling your charges.
