THE Battle of Flowers fun fair, which opened yesterday, meets all the relevant safety standards, Jersey’s Health and Safety director has said.
Colin Myers confirmed that several checks had been made to ensure that the rides and the fairground itself complied with the latest guidelines.
He made his comments following an accident last year in which two girls were thrown from a ride. One suffered a broken pelvis.
Neither the ride nor its operator has returned to Jersey this year.
