Clayton conquers

JERSEY tennis player Scott Clayton took the U18 boys’ title at the BNP Paribas Jersey Open Junior Tennis tournament with a win over Angus McCaul of Kent yesterday.
Having already beaten McCaul earlier in the week in the U16 semi-finals, Clayton had the upper hand and took yesterday’s final comfortably 6-1, 6-3.
In the other two finals of the tournament played yesterday, Dominque Crompton of Cheshire beat Alicia Barnett of Gloucestershire 6-1, 6-4 to win the girls’ U18 title while Joshua Southern of Sussex beat Jack Long-Martinez, who is also through to tomorrow’s U12 boys’ final against Jersey’s Stuart Parker, 6-1, 6-1 to take the U14 boys’ title.
