Dandara swoop to back Island football
Monday 3rd August 2009, 3:00PM BST.

Andrew Barton and Luke Bechelet of Dandara close in on Combination president Tim Darwin at Springfield
DANDARA is investing £20,000 into this coming season’s Jersey Football Combination League.
Announcing their involvement, Combination president Tim Darwin said: ‘In the current economic climate their decision came out of the blue, particularly as they approached us about a fortnight ago.
‘Initially it will be for a one-year period, to be reviewed at the end of the season. Coming in as they have done, at the 11th hour, can only be good news for the league and for Island football in general.
‘Without that investment this was going to be a tough season for the 19 clubs in the Combination, but the sponsors can rest assured that every penny of that money – 100 per cent – will go back into the clubs, to help football from grass roots level upwards.’
