COMPETITORS came from all three of the Island’s archery clubs for the inaugural Archery Association of Jersey Open 720 and head-to-head event.
There was stiff competition between the 16 archers who were all aiming for success at the Crabbé range on Sunday with the usual testing crosswind to contend with.
Island Games medallist Mike Coward was on target in the recurve event of the 720, which consists of six dozen arrows at 70m for adults, while Emily Brock tasted success in the junior event, being shot from 50m.
Miss Battle of Flowers Lucy O’Sullivan is managing to combine her new duties with her passion for the sport as she came out to win the compound event by a clear margin.
Head-to-head
In the head-to-head competition Matt Dale took the recurve gold medal beating Mick Jezequel into silver as Coward claimed bronze. It was a double success for Brock as she took the junior gold medal with Robert Kelly gaining silver and Steve Jacobs shot to the gold medal in the compound event with Mary Audrain gaining silver.
