PREMIERSHIP St Ouen and Championship Sporting Academics won through to the quarter-finals of the Dandara Jersey Football Combination’s Charity Cup last night.
The Saints booked a last eight place against Magpies or Grouville next Tuesday evening following a 3-1 victory over St Martin/SCF at Les Quennevais while the Accies won 2-0 against fellow Championship side St John at the IJ Bathe Field.
Lucas Parker, Jon Evans and Martyn Sansom notched for St Ouen and Lee Richomme for St Martin/SCF. Michael Pereira grabbed both Accies goals to set up a quarter-final tie against Premiership Trinity tomorrow week.
St Ouen manager Peter Flambard said: ‘It was our first competitive game of the season and overall I was pleased. We controlled the first half and took the lead with a fabulous strike from Martyn Sansom into a top corner.’
The first of the quarter-finals is being played this evening when Channel Islands champions St Paul’s host Jersey Scottish at St Saviour. Kick off is at 6 pm.
