EMPLOYEES of CPA Global have been leaving the office this week – to do some voluntary work at the Battle of Flowers.
The company are the lead sponsors of this year’s event, so when staff re-formed their social committee last month, they decided it was only right that they should offer the parade organisers their services in some way.
As a result, 20 employees from all levels of the company will be helping out at tomorrow’s Battle of Flowers and Friday’s Moonlight Parade. Many of them will also be taking along a family member to get involved, too.
Each of the volunteers will be assigned a specific job for the parade. Some will sell programmes, others will man ticket sales and some will work as marshals. And the company has even given the employees the day off work, meaning that they will be able to help out for the whole day.
CPA’s client services operations manager, Ross Hunter, was involved in helping to set up the new social committee. ‘As CPA are the lead sponsors of this year’s Battle, we thought it would be a good idea to provide support on the ground as well as financially, so the social committee asked employees if they could help,’ he said.
