CI airline increases capacity

BLUE Islands has been awarded a licence to fly its biggest aircraft yet.
The Guernsey-based airline tried out its new full Air Operator Licence on Thursday when it launched the 46-seater ATR 42-320 on the evening flight from Jersey to Guernsey.
The new aircraft was given the thumbs-up by potential inter-island customers earlier this year when Blue Islands carried out some marketing research. The overall consensus was that it was a ‘much smoother, more comfortable and quieter ride, especially in turbulent weather’.
The ATR will operate on the routes to Geneva and Zurich alongside the 31-seater Dornier 328, as well as between Guernsey and Jersey and Southampton.
