Haut de la Garenne, where Gordon Wateridge was a house parent
THE man accused of indecently assaulting young girls at Haut de la Garenne has been found guiltyof nine charges.
Gordon Claude Wateridge (78) was convicted of eight charges of indecent assault and one of assault. He was cleared of 12 other charges, including more serious allegations of indecent assault.
The charges related to a time when he worked at the home as a house parent in the early 1970s.
An Assize jury deliberated for a day and a half before the verdicts were announced in the Royal Court at lunchtime today.
