IT was undoubtedly an international affair at the Airtel Vodafone Beach Volleyball event at the Gunsite last weekend.

Players from seven nationalities made up the two teams that battled it out in the Men’s In It To Win It final which provided a classic encounter between Airtel Vodafone and Roadkill.

It was a close call for Airtel Vodafone who only made it into the play off on points difference but the team of Matt Morel (Jersey), Daniel Grigoras (Romania), Alan Caser (Italy), and Jarrod Heger (Australia) did not let their second chance slip away and they beat Roadkill’s Paul Gartshore (Scotland), Bero Bobus (Croatia), Dave Davies (Jersey), and Mike Jones (England) to the title in two sets.

In the women’s In It To Win It event 2e2 beat Whoozzah in straight sets in the final.
The 2e2 squad of Deirdre de Rue, Michelle Hervieu, Nicki Appleton, Wendy Burnett, and Diane Tribe along with Whoozzah’s Anita Othman, Jo Carter, Ania Ryszawy, Anna Kozial, and Kay Miles only progressed into the play off on points difference after a tough group stage between five teams resulted in three finishing with three wins.
