A TEENAGE girl’s dream of meeting her pop heroes came true this week when she came face to face with McFly.
Lisa Bruce (15) met her dream band on Thursday night before their sell-out concert at Fort Regent.
The Haute Vallée school student has faced a difficult 12 months after her brother Karl was killed at the age of just 19 in a car crash in Gloucester, where he had been working.
Lisa’s mother, Kerry, wrote to the JEP asking if we could do anything to help her daughter, such as getting a T-shirt signed by band members Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd.
But the JEP managed to get more than that and secured her a meeting with her favourite band in their dressing room. Mrs Bruce, a secretary at Grainville School, said that making Lisa’s dream come true had given her the strength to cope, with a special memory that will make her smile for the rest of her life.
Promoter Dick Ray, who brought the band over, organised the meeting in their dressing room minutes before they went on stage.
