ISLAND schools will reopen as planned on 3 September but children who have just returned from overseas holidays should not go back immediately due to the risk of spreading swine flu.
Meanwhile, Deputy Medical Officer of Health, Dr Susan Turnbull, says that the Island has been successful so far at containing the spread of the virus.
Europe
She is advising parents to keep children off school for 48 hours if they have just returned from higher risk areas such as the UK, much of Europe, the USA and Australia.
The notification means that children returning to Jersey on Tuesday 1 September should stay off school until Friday 4 September. Those returning on Wednesday 2 September should return on Monday 7 September.
