CUP-HOLDERS St Paul’s will defend the Dandara Jersey Football Combination’s Charity Cup in the final next month after defeating Grouville last night.
The Saints won 3-1 at Les Quennevais following goals by Luke Watson, Ross Crick and Mark Lucas before Grouville replied through Mick McParland who nodded home with his first touch after coming on as a substitute.
‘It was a great result and a pleasing performance,’ said St Paul’s assistant manager Martin Cassidy.
‘We went in leading 1-0 and it should have been more because our forward play was very strong and we played with a high tempo.
‘Grouville dug in and made it difficult for us but we did use the width of the pitch well.’
