Broadband price war is underway

Broadband price war is underway.
ISLANDERS will be able to access high-speed internet services from mid-September and a price war is already under way.
Cable & Wireless-owned Sure is offering the faster services at £19.99 a month, compared to £27.99 a month from Jersey Telecom. However, for the first three months JT has an introductory price of £13.99.
Customers have to sign up for an 18-month contract with JT and new clients will have to pay a £50 connection fee to get the quickest connection speed.
Sure is buying its broadband capability at wholesale prices from JT, so all customers will have to have a JT landline to be able to subscribe. Contracts with Sure are of a 12-month duration.
From 14 September, the quickest ever broadband service of up to eight megabytes a second will be available. Those who want the highest speeds can register online now.
