Jersey coach Peter Gough.
SUSSEX won the Standard Bank Trophy in the Under-16 County Festival yesterday while Jersey U17s won the final of the Plate tournament for the first time.
Sussex – who Jersey defeated on the opening day last Monday by seven wickets – beat Berkshire in the main competition at Grainville by four wickets.
Jersey, who recorded four wins out of five throughout the week, defeated Buckinghamshire by 49 runs.
Jersey coach Peter Gough, who has been assisted by coach Craig Hogan, said: ‘I’m delighted for the boys; they’ve had a good week. Craig went to Belfast with them for the European Division I tournament and they look a different team for the experience.
‘Craig has obviously done a lot of work with them; their game sense is much improved, they now know how to win in 50-overs and that’s great.’
