Crane operator lucky to be alive
Saturday 29th August 2009, 2:59PM BST.

The lorry rolled over in a building site in Grouville yesterday.
A CRANE operator was lucky to be alive today after suffering horrific leg injuries in a freak building site accident.
The 33-year-old was left with a partially severed foot and a deep cut to his knee when the lorry he was working on toppled over yesterday afternoon.
Ambulance Service station officer paramedic Richard d’Ulivo-Rogers said: ‘If he had fallen differently and had become caught underneath the machinery he would have suffered much more serious injuries, and it could have been fatal.’
The man was operating a small crane on the back of a lorry at the site on Rue au T’chian in Grouville shortly before 2 pm yesterday when the vehicle rolled over.
