Scrum-half Dave McCormack makes his league debut for Jersey RFC at Bracknell tomorrow

JERSEY RFC face arguably the biggest test of all in National League III when they open their campaign away to fancied Bracknell tomorrow.

For Bracknell are well used to playing at a much higher level and JRFC coach Ben Harvey knows how tough this fixture will be.

But he says, candidly: ‘If we play to our potential we’ll beat them. But I know full well, when I was a player, that they were a tasty club, especially at home. But one match isn’t a defining moment in this league. So let’s just wait and see what the weekend brings us.’

Meanwhile the Bracknell chairman, Guy Young, is under no illusion. ‘Jersey will no doubt be the toughest side we will face, and this game will set the tone,’ he said, asking for as big a crowd as possible to support his team.
