Netball returns in good shape

Abigail Hazley is back in action for Convent A

THIS season’s Dominion Winter Netball League looks set to be one of the closest for years.

With Division I champions Convent and runners-up St Clement A both revealing strong squads for the impending outbreak of matches the battle for the title will reignite on Monday.

Linda Andrews, at the Convent helm once more, welcomes the return from university of Abbie Hazley, at centre or wing defence, and Sophie Holmes who resumes her shooting position next month.

Both captain Laura Belhomme and vice-captain Sarah Thatcher add to the experience of the side while last season’s junior player of the year Jacy Brown and Megan Conroy are available in the short term.
