JERSEY clay shooter Chris Settle has brought the Captain’s Trophy back to the Island for the first time in 22 years with success at the Skeet Clay Home International.

Beating the current world champion and British champion Settle conquered the wet and windy conditions to claim the honour with a score of 99 ex 100.

Settle said: ‘The blustery conditions unsettled quite a lot of the shooters but I managed to hit 99 out of 100 to set a personal best, only missing in the very last round, on a day when many struggled.’

Teams from England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland had been battling it out for the high gun honour in wet and windy conditions at Mulroy CPC in County Donegal.
