JERSEY Telecom wants members of its workforce to volunteer for redundancy.
Group chief executive Bob Lawrence would not say how many staff the company was hoping would apply for the package.
However, he said: ‘The performance of the group remains strong, but we face a challenging future due to increased competition.’
He added that lower staff costs was one area where further savings must be made. ‘This will help protect the best interests of our customers, our employees and our shareholder, the States of Jersey,’ he said.
JT is offering three weeks wages for every year worked plus ten per cent and the offer will be open until the end of October. The maximum amount any staff member will get will be a year’s salary.
