WE spent five days in Jersey from Tuesday 1 to Sunday 6 September. Via your newspaper we would like to thank Jersey!

I hope this does not sound to over the top but we really enjoyed ourselves and could not think of any other way to say thank you.

What a lovely Island you have. It is clean, with wonderful beaches, walks, views, restaurants and fresh air.

Your bus service is simply superb. How I wish we had one like yours where we live in Sussex. We hired cycles and rode from St Helier to St Aubin and back, a lovely experience.

We had a car for a couple of days and found that the Jersey drivers are considerate and courteous. Your honorary police are also helpful and friendly – we actually got stopped in a vehicle check. It was no problem and we were soon on our way again.

We found our way round Jersey easily and car parking is excellent and plentiful. One thing we did liked was the plaques giving information at every place of interest.

The Occupation and Liberation exhibitions are really good and informative, the liberation sculpture is superb and the tapestry is a real must, it is wonderful.

We will certainly be returning with, hopefully, our whole family. We will also do what we can to promote Jersey which deserves to be a really successful holiday destination.
