Harvey backs his boys to hit back

Coach Ben Harvey
AFTER losing to Bracknell last weekend, JRFC coach Ben Harvey is making no hasty changes as he prepares to travel to Norfolk tomorrow.
As far as he is concerned, he has more than enough good players capable of making the first team and most of the changes he’s made have been enforced or are based on what he knows of the opposition.
Even so, in North Walsham’s case, his 1st XV are going into the unknown. For although Jersey beat the home side 8-46 in last year’s game at the Scottow ground, the ‘Vikings’, who beat Sutton and Epsom 22-15 last Saturday at the same time as Jersey were losing 24-19 to Bracknell, have been rebuilding their side.
In the pack the former Diss hooker made his debut last weekend as did Leicester Tigers Academy player Josh Goldsping at No 6 making this, according to the local press, ‘the strongest forward line-up North Walsham have fielded for years’.
The biggest change comes in the backs, however, with four players included who Jersey didn’t play against last season. This includes Bruce van Poortvliet from Holt at 13 and Justin Loveridge at 10 helping to make this: ‘a faster and more powerful line-up than for many a season’.
