Jersey Rugby Club coach Ben Harvey.
JERSEY go into tomorrow’s first home league game of the season against Sutton and Epsom RFC with a mainly unchanged team to the one that beat North Walsham so convincingly last Saturday 43-13.
And the two changes that coach Ben Harvey has made have been forced upon him. Back row player Kern Yates is off-Island, which allows Graham Bell to step in while Sam Tuia is injured, so Charlie Clyde-Smith, who scored a hat-trick for the 2nds last week, comes in on the wing.
However, as the visitors prepare for the weekend to come, the respective coaches are looking in two very different directions.
For Sutton and Epsom’s head coach, Terry O’Connor, this is a match he knows he is not expected to win. Last season his side lost both of their games to Jersey and this season they have begun badly. They have one miserly point having lost both of their first two games and are currently third from the bottom of the table.
