JERSEY Connections has had another success in that the Noel family have been in touch with Iain Sutherland, of Poole, in Dorset.

Mr Sutherland had explained that John and Jean Noel were old friends of his father but that all efforts to find them – including calling all the J Noels in the telephone directory – had been in vain.

However, after an appeal in the JEP, he received an e-mail from one of Mr Noel’s sons, Michael.

‘Michael told me that his mum Jean died some 18 years ago but that his father John is still alive and is still living on Jersey and has sent a contact phone number for my father to ring,’ said Mr Sutherland.

As well as expressing his thanks to the JEP, he added that he and his father were now planning to meet the Noels later this year.
