Fisherman missing off north coast
Wednesday 23rd September 2009, 3:00PM BST.

Mr Blanchet (66) is described as ‘a very experienced fisherman’
A MAJOR search was under way today after a fisherman vanished at sea.
Two lifeboats, the Channel Islands Air Search plane and several other Harbour, leisure and fishing vessels were today scouring the north coast after 66-year-old Edward Charles Blanchet failed to return to shore.
Items believed to be from Mr Blanchet’s 16-ft boat, including nets and boxes, were found floating off the north coast last night, but the boat was still missing this morning.
The States of Jersey police today said that there was ‘serious concern’ for Mr Blanchet’s welfare.
