POLICE officers have revealed that they secretly filmed a group of men accused of plotting to flood Jersey’s streets with £1m of imported cannabis.
They watched the men as they spoke in The Parade, filmed them entering their properties and even secretly photographed them at the Airport.
Six men are currently on trial in the Royal Court for allegedly conspiring to import £1m worth of cannabis and sell it in the Island.
The covert methods used by police to photograph and film Curtis Warren (46), Jonathon Welsh (43), James O’Brien (45), Paul Hunt (27), Jason Woodward (22) and Oliver Lucas (23) were described in court yesterday.
The prosecution claimed that Mr Welsh, who was described as Mr Warren’s ‘right hand man’, recruited Mr O’Brien, Mr Woodward, Mr Hunt and Mr Lucas, to raise cash and help transport the drugs.
Officers, who were watching Mr Welsh, Mr Woodward and Mr Hunt in Parade Gardens on 6 July, explained their roles in the operation, which was codenamed ‘Floss’.
